ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Music/Download/Translation Post! :D

After kicking around YSI last night, [info]beimprobable suggested I use SendSpace and yay! Mission accomplished! XD

These are fairly high-quality rips of the 2-disc ZsaZsa Zaturnnah musical soundtrack, so they're perfect for sticking on your i-pod. XD All ZsaZsa Zaturnnah merchandise is unavailable abroad, (which is the reason why I'm sharing this), but if you have the chance to buy them, please do. :) (To the other Filipinos on my f-list: Feel free to DL as well, but please purchase the CDs when you have the chance. ;D)

I also scanned in the booklet pages with pictures, but a lot of them were only lyrics so I left those out. The songs are predominantly Filipino, but there are a few which are completely in English. (Zaturnnah's nemesis-- Queen Femina Suarstellar Baroux-- is a feminist fashionista alien, so all her songs are in English. XDDD)

SENDSPACE MUSICAL UPLOADS:

Disc B: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pbn6s9

ZsaZsa Zaturnnah: A Quick Summary

Disc A
Track 1: Prologue
This track sets the tone for the story. It's basically just a voice-over by Ada, where he muses about his thoughts on life, love, and his sexuality. XD ("Bakla" means "gay" in Filipino. This word pops up a lot during the musical.)

Track 2, 3, 4: Parlorista ng Bayan (Hairdresser of the Nation)

This is Ada, the main character. He is the gay proprietor of a beauty salon in the province. The first three singing tracks basically introduce him and his role in society. (He's the town's favourite object of gossip because he's gay.).

Track 5: Babae Na Ako (I'm A Woman!!)
This is the song that Ada sings when he becomes ZsaZsa. (A stone drops onto his head while he's singing (badly) in the shower. XD Didi, his employee and sidekick goads him into swallowing it. (because of a local superhero myth regarding "Darna", where a kid eats a stone and turns into a wonder woman-type heroine. Zsazsa is basically a parody of this.)

Track 6: Walang Ibang Pangarap Kundi Siya (No Other Goal But Him)
A really lecherous song sung by Didi about Dodong, the boy-next-door whom Ada is not-so-secretly in love with. :D Dodong later on joins in, singing about how his ideal lover is kind and quiet and strong, but different as well. (He is obviously singing about Ada.)

Track 7: Nakakalokang Palakang Kokak (This is a play on words, but the literal translation is "This Croaky Frog That Makes Me Crazy") T___T I suck at translating.
Ada's first challenge as Zaturnnah comes in the form of a giant frog rampaging across the village. She kicks ass, of course. :D

Track 8: The Amazonistas from Planet XxX
This track is all in English, so it's probably self-explanatory. :) It's the intro of Zaturnnah's nemesis. (Right after this, Queen Femina invites Zaturnnah to join her in conquering the world. Zsazsa says no, and the Amazonistas tell her that they'll be tossing another test her way. The test turns out to be forcing ZsaZsa to battle zombies, which leads to the next track:)

Track 9: Huwag Na Huwag Niyo Siyang Babastusin (Don't You Ever Molest Him!!)
Sung by Didi. Zaturnnah and Didi go to the graveyard to fight the zombies and Dodong joins them there. Zaturnnah is distracted during the battle, and Didi and Dodong are left to fend for themselves. The zombies immediately try to molest (hehehehe) Dodong, and Didi is spurred into action. He kicks zombie ass and attempts to molest Dodong himself. (hahahahaha)

Track 10: Panalo Na Ako (I've Won!)
Zaturnnah's victory/gloating song after kicking ass. She is suddenly stopped by a familiar-looking zombie who turns out to be her dead father.

Track 11: Multo Ng Nakaraan (Ghost of the Past)
A rather sad song by Ada, Zaturnnah, and his father. Basically, Ada/Zaturnnah tries to tell his dad that he turned out okay even though he's gay, but his dad won't hear accept any of it. He tears himself apart rather than accept Ada for who he is. ;___;

Track 12: Laman Sa Laman, Buto sa Buto (Flesh to Flesh, Bone to Bone)
A chorus song sung by the zombies as they get mass on the church (where Zaturnnah and the townspeople are making their final stand).

Track 13: Victoria! Winner! Tagumpay! (Victory! Winner! Winner! (in Filipino))
Sung by Zaturnnah after she leads the townspeople to victory against the zombies. The latter part of this is also the ZsaZsa theme. :D "Ang Pangalan Niya Ay ZsaZsa" = "Her Name Is ZsaZsa"

Disc B
Track 1 and 2: Magsasalpukan Na! (Kick-Ass Time) Or something like that... ^_^;;
Sung by the chorus. This is right after the intermission, and ZsaZsa has gained fame after defeating the zombies. The people are now placing bets on her upcoming battle with the Amazonistas. XD Half of them think she'll win, the other half say that the foreigners are 'healthy' and that they'll kick her ass.

Track 3: Battle Transmorphication Number
Again, sung by the Amazonistas in English. Femina's four cohorts are named after popular Filipino divas: Sharon Cuneta, Dina Bonavie, Vilma Santos, and Nora Aunor. During their level-up, they sing in the manner that the real-life divas are known for. (i.e. Dina has a horrible voice, hence the breaking glass and crap singing. Nora has really bad diction in English, Sharon is an over-acting megastar, etc.)

Track 4: Nakikita Ko Na Ang Nakakasilaw Na Ilaw (I Can See the Blinding Light)
Sung by Didi as ZsaZsa cradles him in her arms. Queen Femina gets past Zaturnnah and shoots Didi, so this is basically Didi's death number. (Except he's not really dead, he just falls asleep.) ^_^;;

Track 5: Ang Pagmumuni-muni ni ZsaZsa (ZsaZsa Hanging Out/Waiting) this word is really hard to translate...
This is after ZsaZsa has left Didi to Dodong (to bring to the clinic), and she has retreated to a closed-down factory outside the village. While she is waiting for the Amazonistas, she sings about how she's always getting beat up now that she's Zaturnnah, and that being a superhero is a tough job. She also reflects that if she loses the power to change, she'll probably be better off as simple Ada.

Track 6: Prepare To Meet Your Doom
Sung by Queen Femina after she and the Amazonistas kick ZsaZsa's ass. As Zaturnnah is badly beaten, Queen Femina launches into song. XD

ZsaZsa uses this time to cough up the stone, (thus turning him back into a man and weakening him even further), and during the confusion (the amazonistas can't believe so valiant a warrior was male), he stuffs the stone down Femina's throat. The amazonistas turn on her when she turns into a man and take her back to the ship for castration. ^_^;;

Dodong then finds Ada in his beaten-up state and carries him back to the village in secret. (He doesn't want anyone to see Ada like this.) :3

Track 7: Ikaw Ang SuperHero Ng Buhay Ko (You Are the SuperHero of My Life)
It is some weeks later and Didi has recovered from getting shot. Ada is preparing to leave the province to go back to Manila, and Dodong comes by to see him. Ada initially tries to brush him off, but Dodong tells him that he's asked his parents for permission to go with Ada to Manila. He then gives him flowers and sings this song. :D

"SuperHero" is basically about how Dodong thinks that the measure of a man doesn't come from being machismo, but by the promises of his heart. He also says that out of all the people that he's met, only Ada has made him feel like this. Even though Ada can't fly anymore, he is more than capable of travelling great distances. Distances that Dodong wishes to travel with him. ;_____; (Utterly sappy song, but I can't help but love the fact that it's so corny...)

Track 8: Ayoko Nang Mabuhay Ng Ganito (I Don't Want To Live Like This Anymore)
Sung by Ada, about his past battles and the loss of the stone. He's now a normal person, and it's about time he decides whether or not he'll get on with his life (and accept Dodong's love), or continue hiding his heart from the rest of the world. He doesn't give Dodong an answer.

Track 9: Ikaw Ang SuperHero Ng Buhay Ko Reprise (You Are the SuperHero of My Life)
Dodong then answers his doubts by singing the reprise of track 7. XD It's basically more of the same, but with added declarations of love. :3 Needless to say, Ada caves:

The musical basically ends with the kiss, while the chorus comes out and dances around them waving flower wreathes and generally being romantic and lovely. :D

Track 10, 11, and 12: Bonus tracks. ^_^

More images from both musical and movie can be found at my ZsaZsa Zaturnnah site here: http://trinitycross.net/zsa

Oh, and if you liked the cd, please consider joining the ZsaZsa Zaturnnah fanlisting. XD I got authorized to run it this morning, so it's still quite empty... ^_^;;

I think I'm in love with Ada. He's soooo adorable! Although all the cast members you've posted pics of are gorgeous. Maybe I shouldn't visit the Phillipines - I may die of nosebleed! XD

Yay! :)
I've only seen a live musical twice. Once was Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Cats, and once was a university production of Les Miserables. Both were superb.

Ooh, that's awesome. I don't think I've ever seen Les Miserables as a musical. I hope one of the theater troupes here do it someday. :D

And before I forget-- feel free to recommend this post to whoever you think may be interested! :D (I wish to spread the Zaturnnah love, lol.)

I will! It's definitely on my list of things to inflict on share with Lee. :D
I'm still trying to get her to watch Latter Days (which she wants to see, because she was raised as a Mormon), and I put Bishounen and Formula 17 on the disc too.
BTW, have you seen Gohatto? If not, I must burn you a copy. Gay samurai FTW! Actually, I think it counts as a good samurai film, even without the gay. The main character, Sozaburo Kano, is so gorgeous it's frightening, and I love the way he yelled 'gomen!' before making his first official execution. It was so cute, so polite!

Eeee...thankyou for the music and the descriptions. Sadly I was only able to get the first half of the music before my internet decided to caput then come back, but work at a snail's pace. ;__; So until Feb. 1st (new bandwidth season) I just have the first half. Still, I'm happy the second half is there and since its not on yousendit I *can* get it at the beginning of next month.

The descriptions, as aforestated are also lovely to have so non-fillipino speaking folks or people who haven't seen the musical can enjoy the fun a lil' more.

And there are better (edited, lol) descriptions and more pictures per track over here: http://trinitycross.net/zsa/musical.html

*hugs*
