I've been plugging The Authority non-stop for the past few posts, so I thought I'd share the love further:
(This is the complete Authority in .CRC format. You'll need the comic book viewer linked below to read it.)
http://www.torrentportal.com/details/573381/The+Authority+%5BComplete+Series%5D+%28comic+books%29.torrent.html

I currently own 4 of the collected trade paperbacks and am in the process of hunting down the rest at local comic stores, so if you like the book, please purchase it as well. :D

Download the ComicReader here: http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay

Why I Love The Authority.

It's been a while since I started getting back into the world of American comics, and boy, I couldn't have picked a better time. I've been unearthing quite a lot of great series lately, and I've taken it upon myself to share the love.

And of course, what better thing to share than 'The Authority'-- home of the Midnighter and Apollo, my two favourite gay superheroes.

The writing on the Authority is excellent. The dialogue is witty, the storylines are tight, and I love how I'm getting a gay couple in a series that is /not/ all about the gay. Make no mistake, this is a superhero comic-- it's got fights, drama, angst, the works. But the characters all have bad days, flaws, and intrinsic value that make them seem real.

There are heterosexual couples/interactions as well as the homosexual ones, and I love how in-your-face everything is (during 'the Kev' spin-offs, in any case). And I remember comics that used to have the heroes yelling "to blazes with you!"-- thank God they've gotten rid of that habit, lol. Now we've got dialogue that has the darker characters actually /talking/ like darker characters, instead of that freaked-out Comics-Code censor-speak. XD

They really don't make comics like they used to... they make them so much better. ^___^

and for scenes like this:

Convinced? Purchase/Download the Authority today! :D

http://zcultfm.com/~comic/
(You'll have to register and make one post to access their bittorrent network.)
